Virginia Milan Memorial Scholarship Fund

Virginia Milan was an elementary school teacher who dedicated her life to her students for 42 years.  While teaching in Linden, many of her years were spent at School No. 4.  Virginia was truly exceptional, loving all of her students as if they were her own. No child would leave her class without a kiss on the forehead and a hug. Being recognized for the teacher that she was, Virginia was the first teacher at School No. 4 to be nominated for the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Program.

As a member of the Linden Education Association, she served as chairperson of the Philanthropic/Scholarship committee. She earnestly raised money to award scholarships to Linden High School students and the children of LEA members. After Virginia retired, she continued to carry on this tradition by using her own money to award a Linden High School scholarship to a student who previously attended School No. 4.

Sadly, Virginia passed away on November 15, 2017 after 42 years of teaching and many years of service to the Linden Education Association.  In her honor, please join us in creating the Virginia Milan Memorial Scholarship Fund to be given to  a graduating LHS Student who had attended School No. 4.
