Virginia Milan was an elementary school teacher who dedicated her life to her students for 42 years. While teaching in Linden, many of her years were spent at School Four. Virginia was truly exceptional, loving all of her students as if they were her own. No child would leave her class without a kiss on the forehead and a hug. Being recognized for the teacher that she was, Virginia was the first teacher at School Four to be nominated for the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Program.
As a member of the Linden Education Association, she served as chairperson of the Philanthropic/Scholarship committee. She earnestly raised money to award scholarships to Linden High School students and the children of LEA members. After Virginia retired, she continued to carry on this tradition by using her own money to award a Linden High School scholarship to a student who previously attended School Four.
Sadly, Virginia passed away this past November. The Linden Education Association Philanthropic committee would like to carry on her tradition by awarding a scholarship in her memory. We are reaching out to all of those who loved Virginia to please contribute in her name.
